Irini was born in Preveza and raised in Louros where she developed love and connection with the animals at an early age, playing with the family’s 7 dogs and her grandfather’s chickens and sheep.

In 2008 she combined that love with her interest in medical science and started studying veterinary medicine in the University of Thessaly, from where she graduated in 2015. She went on to complete a 2-year rotating residency in small animal Surgery, Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Radiology at the department of surgery of the same university.

She also completed a training course on ultrasonography of the abdomen and heart of small animals at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine and surgery and also dermatology. She continues training on those areas until today.

During her studies she enriched her clinical experience while working in veterinary clinics in Thessaloniki, Karditsa and Preveza.

Naturally after all these studies, she co-founded Vetcare with her partner Lefteris (also a vet) in November 2017 in Preveza where she works as a veterinary surgeon.

In 2017 she completed a 2-day training on the support of multiple trauma patients: thorax.

Ιn 2019-2022 she completed a series of state of the art, internationally recognized training courses (ESAVS) in soft tissue surgery (abdominal, urinary, liver, adrenal, perineal, hernias, reconstructive surgery and more).

In 2022 she was accepted and enrolled to the certificate program for soft tissue surgery by ESAVS and the university of Luxembourg.

In January of 2022 she completed a training course on canine and feline ophthalmology.

Vetcare represents her ambition to create a veterinary clinic that practices modern medicine with love for the patient.

Raised in Volos, the son of a medical doctor, Lefteris developed an interest in becoming a healer himself at an early age, but it wasn’t until his twelfth birthday when he got his first puppy, Spady, that he decided it wasn’t human medicine that interested him but animal medicine.

So in 2008 he started studying veterinary medicine in the University of Thessaly, where he graduated in 2015. He went on to complete a 2-year rotating residency on small animal surgery, anesthesia, intensive care and radiology.

His special interests are small animal Anesthesia and Orthopedics, in which he continues training.

In university he met his partner in life Irini and in 2017 they founded Vetcare in Preveza, where he works as a veterinary surgeon.

Vetcare represents his personal philosophy that veterinarians should care.

He constantly takes part in training seminars with the goal of broadening the services Vetcare can offer.

In 2017 he completed a practical training seminar (dry lab) in small animal fracture management with the use of locking plates.

In 2020 he completed a practical training seminar (wet lab) in management of complex pelvic fractures in small animals.

In March of 2021 he completed a training seminar in rabbit clinical care, surgery and dentistry.

In January of 2022 he completed a training seminar in small animal dentristry.

In February of 2022 he completed a training seminar in psittacine and passerine bird clinical care and surgery.

In 2022 he completed a series of state of the art, internationally recognized training courses (ESAVS) in the subject of small animal orthopedics.

Danai contributes to the elevated dental care of Vetcare’s patients, by providing her specialized knowledge. With her valuable guidance, our skilled doctors offer the high quality dental care that makes our clinic stand out.

Dr. Eleftheria is a very experienced small animal surgeon. She works with us at Vetcare as a consultant and takes on very complicated surgical cases. Her main area of expertise is soft tissue surgery but she also performs orthopaedic and ophthalmic surgery. She got her veterinary degree in 2011 from the University of Thessaly, then went on to complete a surgical post graduate training and her Phd, titled “The use of myocutaneous flaps in the management of complex skin defects on the feline distal tibia”. She currently consults and performs surgery for a number of clinics in Greece, while also continuing her research activity and teaching.

Here at Vetcare we are proud to be able to employ her incredible skills when our patients need it and with her guidance elevate our surgical services even more. But mostly, we are proud to work with a veterinary surgeon that loves and respects her patients.

Eleftheria is the proud cat mother of the beautiful Romeo!

Nero is our mascot (and secretly our boss). Irini and Lefteris got him in 2012, when he was a stray puppy in Karditsa. They have been inseparable since.
