Eirini’s story

She was born in Preveza and raised in Louros. Her love for animals began at a young age, playing with the family’s 7 dogs, chickens, and her grandfather’s sheep. In 2008, she combined this love with an interest in medical science and began her studies at the Veterinary School of the University of Thessaly, from where she graduated in 2015. Together with her husband and veterinarian, Lefteris Christinis, she founded Vetcare in Preveza in November 2017, where she has been employed as a veterinary surgeon ever since.

Her extensive postgraduate studies and certifications ensure accurate diagnosis, immediate treatment, and the high-level care she offers our pets.

She is a certified Fear Free professional, that means she uses a compassionate approach to ensure her patients have a stress-free experience that promotes recovery and reduces their fear of the veterinarian.

By 2017, she completed a two-year postgraduate training program in Surgery, Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Imaging of companion animals at the Surgical Clinic of the University of Thessaly.

She also completed a training seminar in Abdominal and Cardiac Ultrasonography of companion animals at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

2017: Participated in a two-day veterinary traumatology seminar on “Advanced support for the multi-trauma patient: thorax”.

2019-2023: Completed a series of internationally renowned ESAVS seminars by distinguished board-certified surgeons on soft tissue surgery:

• Abdominal surgery, liver surgery, urinary tract, digestive tract, adrenal glands, pancreas
• Reconstructive plastic surgery
• Perineal and perianal region surgery
• Head and neck surgery, ENT surgeries, brachycephalic syndrome corrective surgery, thoracic and respiratory system surgery

January 2022: Completed ophthalmology training for dogs and cats.

In 2026, she completed a series of online ESAVS seminars on clinical nutrition for animals.

In 2026, she earned the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Veterinary Medicine, in Soft Tissue Surgery. A demanding, high-level certification from the leading recognized organization ESAVS (European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies). She completed the very demanding exams, the required case log and extensive seminars (from 2019 to 2025).

In 2026, she completed a series of extensive seminars on abdominal and cardiac ultrasonography of small animals by the recognized educational organization Improve International. She began her certification process from the international organization ISVPS (International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies), which is expected to be completed in 2027.

Vetcare represents her personal ambition for a veterinary clinic that practices modern medicine with love for animals and their people.

Lefteris’ story

Raised in Volos by a physician father, he dreamed of pursuing medicine from a young age. However, it was on his twelfth birthday, when he got his first puppy, Spady, that he decided the medicine he was interested in was not human medicine.

In 2008, he began his studies at the Veterinary School of the University of Thessaly, from where he graduated in 2015.

He continued his studies until 2017 at the Surgical Clinic of the same university, where he followed a two-year postgraduate training program in Surgery, Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Imaging of Companion Animals.

In 2017, he founded the Vetcare veterinary clinic together with his wife and veterinarian, Eirini Trianti, where he works as a veterinary surgeon.

In 2017, he completed a practical training seminar on fracture management using locking plates.

In 2020, he completed a practical training seminar (wet lab) on complex pelvic fracture management.

In March 2021, he completed training in clinical pathology and surgery of rabbits.

In January 2022, he completed training in small animal dentistry.

In February 2022, he completed training in clinical pathology and surgery of pet birds and psittacines.

From 2022 to 2026, he completed a series of internationally recognized ESAVS educational seminars by distinguished board-certified surgeons in the field of small animal orthopedics.

In 2024, he was accepted into the certificate program for small animal orthopedics.

In 2026, he trained in veterinary accupuncture, an evidence-based method that contributes to a more holistic approach for his patients, especially in cases where pharmaceutical treatment has exhausted all its options.

In 2026-2027, he completed a series of extensive educational seminars on animal nutrition, which he will soon follow with the corresponding certification. The seminars are conducted by the leading organization ESAVS (European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies).

Dr. Eleftheria is a very experienced small animal surgeon. She works with us at Vetcare as a consultant and takes on very complicated surgical cases. Her main area of expertise is soft tissue surgery but she also performs orthopaedic and ophthalmic surgery. She got her veterinary degree in 2011 from the University of Thessaly, then went on to complete a surgical post graduate training and her Phd, titled “The use of myocutaneous flaps in the management of complex skin defects on the feline distal tibia”. She currently consults and performs surgery for a number of clinics in Greece, while also continuing her research activity and teaching.

Here at Vetcare we are proud to be able to employ her incredible skills when our patients need it and with her guidance elevate our surgical services even more. But mostly, we are proud to work with a veterinary surgeon that loves and respects her patients.

Eleftheria is the proud cat mother of the beautiful Romeo!

Nero is our mascot (and secretly our boss). Irini and Lefteris got him in 2012, when he was a stray puppy in Karditsa. They have been inseparable since.
